Unlike corporate HR, we have no obligation to your employer. We work exclusively for you.

We empower and support employees faced with adversity at work to achieve fair and fast resolutions while ensuring the right parties are held accountable. Companies already have protection by design, and we’re providing employees with support that they can trust with their best interests in mind.

Creating safer and healthier workplaces takes collective effort. By providing strategic HR support to employees facing ethical dilemmas, workplace conflict, and misconduct, we give the workforce the knowledge and tools they need to speak up with confidence and advocate for safer workplaces.

HR for HR: HR professionals are employees too. When you're the one facing misconduct, retaliation, or internal politics, you can't go to HR. That's where we come in.

Why We Exist

Corporate HR protects the company, not employees. That’s the way it’s designed - even when HR wants to do the right thing, they can’t always do it. Just like all of the other employees, they also work for the company and have to be loyal to the company first and foremost. That creates an information gap that costs people their jobs, their reputations, and their leverage. Trainings aren’t effective, anonymous hotlines don’t help restore trust, and no one is taught about employment law or their rights before entering the workforce.

We built Privacounsel because employees deserve the same quality of HR advice that companies get. Most workplace issues don't require a lawyer, but they do require someone who understands how HR systems work and how to navigate them strategically. And when they do require legal intervention, we make finding the right help easy by providing our clients with access to our network of vetted legal experts.

Actually Confidential. We provide the confidentiality that your company's HR literally isn't allowed to. We don't consult for employers. Ever. Your employer doesn’t get notified that you’ve spoken with us. We provide a confidential space to discuss your situation without fear of retaliation or breach of confidentiality.

Legal Coordination. We have a vetted network of employment attorneys we trust. When your situation requires legal action, we help you prepare everything your attorney will need, make the connection, and hand you off positioned for success. Once you retain counsel, they take over from there.
